VeganMoFo 2018 #13: Eating Out: The Green Edge

My enthusiasm for eating and shopping at The Green Edge since the current owners took over has been well documented (by me). I've stopped in a couple of times over the past month to get some burgers, and to get some groceries. And often to enjoy a juice or turmeric latte.

It took me a while to know I was ready, but finally I was prepared to take on the Origin Burger. It has a beefy patty, caramelised onions, lettuce, cheese, special sauce, pickles, beetroot, and a hash brown. Served with some of their great chips. This burger is, not surprisingly, super filling. But also very yummy.

Another day I tried their Chicken and Bacon Burger. This was when it was still on the specials board, so I didn't realise that it came with a capsicum salsa. Which I painstakingly scraped and picked off. The rest of the burger was great though, with a chicken patty (not gardein, which I am not a fan of), bacon, lettuce, tomato, and garlic aioli. Also with a side of chips and a side of salad.

One day I stopped in for breakfast, and I tried their Carrot Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagel. It was really fun and fresh, and not really very fishy (which is a plus for me).

The Green Edge has recently updated their menu. They now have expanded burger offerings (including both of the above burgers, they were originally just specials), as well as salads and bowls, mac and cheese and lasagna, alongside their regular offerings.

My sofa from when we all lived in Sydney, another rare photo of all three of my girls at once. Sofa edges were premium real estate! You can also see my little bird Spock in the background. And right at the back is Winston Barkley, my faux pupper.

  1. What a brilliant idea to put a hash brown on top of a burger!!
I've heard so many things about carrot salmon but I've never tried it!
Couch edges are the best real estate besides a lap of course!!

    1. It was always fun when they were relatively close together. Couch edges are the cool place to hang out, apparently.
