But we were both there for the Lasagna Burger... which is what it sounds like. Lasagna in a burger. It was yummy and fun, though pretty smooshy. The bun was garlic breaded on the inside. We also had a side of chips.
It was a few months until I made it back, but I heard they had a new autumn menu and I wanted to try the pancakes. I am a big believer in pancakes for any time of day, so this was much lunch. The menu had been pared down a little, and I was sad to see that I had missed my chance to try their savoury vegan waffles. But I was also super excited to try these Apple Crumble Pancakes. They were so great, the crumble was perfect! Also with a side of hash browns, and a charcoal latte. The charcoal latte tasted mostly like vanilla? Just be sure to ask for it without coffee, if you are caffeine adverse like I am.
My most recent visit was with my mum a couple of weeks ago. She had hoped to try the lasagna burger, but the menu had changed again and it was off it. Again, it is a more pared down version compared to that first visit. She ordered from one of the omni selections on the menu. I was excited to finally try their vegan eggs benedict with mushrooms and a vegan egg. Unfortunately, the least impressive of the meals I have had here. The egg was not great. I think they make the white from silken tofu, but it was weird and smooshy, and the yolk was a very hard, vaguely curry tasting puck buried within. The vegan hollondaise was zesty, though quite thick. The bread and the mushrooms were good (lots of enoki, which I love), though the spinach was pretty watery. But I am still glad I tried it. I also had a turmeric latte. Oh yeah, and a side of hashbrowns. Potatoes are life!
We also met this gorgeous pupper!
The first two times I went to Little Clive, I must admit that the service was slow and not always accurate. Though the food was good. But this last time, the service was much better and spot on. So glad to see that is improving!

Cute Kitty Photo of the Post
Possum and Dim Sim each scored their own blankets, which lived side by side on the sofa for them to snuggle into at will. It was a bit squishy when you added some people, but cats get what cats want!
Susan, I have been saving up your 'eating out' posts for a few days so that I can carefully bookmark everything for my next time in Brissie! So much great fooooooood....
ReplyDeleteBrisbane has so much great food now! I am glad I can help. :D
DeleteI swear you find the best food!! The apple crumble pancakes are to die for. And potatoes definitely are LIFE!
ReplyDeleteCats always get what cats want!
It was a bit of a squish on the sofa to fit humans either side of them, but of course we didn't move them. Cats rule us all.
DeleteThis post has a theme - two smooshies and a squishy! Haha! That's a shame about the benedict. It looks good in the pic, but that doesn't always translate to taste. Clearly, here it didn't.
ReplyDeleteA few places are trying to come up with their own vegan eggs, but it is a tough thing to crack. And if you can't get it right, best to just keep it off the menu.
DeleteThe lasagna burger sounds amazing, and I'd love to try the apple crumble pancakes, too! Cute pup! And sweet sleepy kitties!
ReplyDeleteThe pup was a fun little breakfast companion. We got some nice pats!
DeleteBut always best to come home to a cat. ;)
I can't get over the lasagna burger and more yummy vegan pancakes too!
ReplyDeleteI love pancakes! Grateful that there a few places in Brisbane that I can go and get really good ones from.
